Maybe a leak left a brown ring on the ceiling, or a plumber or electrician left a square hole behind. You want it fixed once, and you don't want a patch that shows every time the light hits it.

Every repair goes through the same steps, whether it's one nail pop or a ceiling after a leak. Here's what happens and why.
Look, measure, quote
Marcus or Jordan, our estimator, looks at every repair with you and measures. You get a written quote by email within 24 hours listing the prep, the coats and the product.
Make sure it's dry
If a stain is still damp, we'll tell you to call a plumber first. We don't fix the leak itself, and a patch over a wet spot just stains again, so you'd end up paying twice.
Cut back to solid board
We cut away broken, soft or water-damaged board around the damage until we reach solid drywall, then fit the patch to that.
Thin coats, full dry
We tape and mud in thin coats and let each one dry fully before the next. The first coats are setting-type compound, because it doesn't shrink as it dries.
Sand, prime, paint the wall
We sand smooth and prime, with a sealing primer over old water stains so they don't bleed through. Then we paint the whole wall, because even the same colour looks different on a fresh spot.

On the last day we walk the room with you and a roll of blue tape. Mark anything you're not happy with and we fix it before we leave.

Will I be able to see where the wall was patched?
That's the most common worry, and the usual cause is painting only the patch. Even in the same colour, a fresh spot looks different from the paint around it. So we sand smooth, prime, and paint the whole wall corner to corner, which is what keeps the repair from standing out.
How long does the compound take to dry?
It depends on how deep the repair is and how many coats it needs. We mud in thin coats and give each one a full dry before the next, rather than piling it on to save a day. Your crew lead's evening text tells you where things stand and what's happening tomorrow.
How much dust will there be?
Sanding makes some dust, and we won't pretend otherwise. Floors get canvas drop cloths, furniture goes to the middle of the room under plastic, and we tape and paper what we're not working on. We leave the house cleaner than we found it at the end of every day.
Can you fix a ceiling stain from a leak?
Yes, once the leak is fixed. We don't fix the leak itself. If the stain is still damp, call a plumber first, because a patch over a wet spot just stains again. Once it's dry, we repair the damaged board and seal the stain with a primer so it doesn't bleed through your new paint.
Is drywall repair included if you're already painting the room?
Minor repairs are already part of our painting jobs, so small fixes happen as part of the prep. Bigger repairs are quoted on their own, as separate lines on your itemised quote, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
The crack over my door keeps coming back. What will you do?
We'll tell you honestly what we see. Cracks get taped and mudded in thin coats rather than just filled. If we open one up and find more going on than we expected, we stop and show you before doing anything that changes the price.
Do I need to clear the room before you come?
Take pictures, mirrors and breakables off the walls, and keep pets out of the room while we work so nobody walks through wet paint. We move the furniture ourselves.
