Stuck between three greiges?
You've narrowed it down to three greiges and can't tell them apart on the chip. Or you've just got the keys to a new place and want one plan for the whole house before you move in. Or your kitchen, living room and hallway all open into each other, and you want the colours to sit well together. In each case we come to you, look at your floors, counters and furniture, and put large samples up on your own walls.
What you get from a colour visit
Most people book this right after their estimate visit, while we're already walking the house with them. Here's what the consultation covers.
-
An in-home visit where we walk the house with you and look at floors, counters and furniture
-
Large sample boards painted in the real product and left on your walls for a few days
-
A look at each sample in the morning and the evening, so you see how your light changes it
-
A colour plan for every room, given to you in writing at the end
-
The exact product and sheen named for each surface we'd be painting
Samples on your walls, then a plan
Four steps over a few days, so you live with the colours before you commit to them.
Walk the house together
We come to your home and walk it with you, looking at your floors, counters and furniture so the colours we suggest work with what's staying.
Large samples on your walls
We paint large sample boards in the real product and leave them on your walls for a few days. A two-inch chip under store lights looks nothing like a whole wall.
Check them morning and evening
Light changes everything. Look at the boards in the morning and again in the evening, and you'll see how each colour shifts in your own rooms.
Your plan, in writingYou approve
You get the final colour plan in writing, room by room, with the exact product and sheen for each surface. It's yours whether we paint or not.

Before you book a colour visit
Does colour consulting cost extra?
It's free with any job we paint. Most people book it right after their estimate visit, while we're already in the house walking each room with them.
Do I have to hire you to paint if I use the plan?
No. The written colour plan is yours either way. It names the colour, product and sheen for each surface, room by room, so you can take it wherever you like.
Can you pick colours from photos I send you?
No, we don't pick colours from a phone photo. Light changes everything, so we put large samples on your walls and look at them in the morning and the evening.
Why not just use the paint chips from the store?
A colour on a two-inch chip under store lights looks nothing like a whole wall. Our sample boards are painted in the real product and stay up for a few days, so you see the colour at full size.
What colour tools do you use?
We use Benjamin Moore colour tools to narrow the options, then paint full-size sample boards in the real product, so the sample on your wall matches what you'd be painting with.
When should I have my colours picked?
Before we start painting. Changing a colour halfway through means another coat and another day, so we settle the plan in writing first.
Most people add it to their estimate visit. Call or text (226) 400-7198 to set it up.
